An Overview of Biblical Prophecy Regarding End Times
This is part four of a four-part series on Jesus Is Coming Soon. In part one explains Jesus' 1st and 2nd comings, His appearance called the Rapture, and the first of five reasons why I believe in a pre-tribulation Rapture. In part two I give reasons 4 through 5 on why I believe in a pre-tribulation Rapture. In part three
Here is an overview of many, not all, of the Biblical Prophecies regarding the end times. These give us a very good indication of what will be going on throughout the whole world and even the universe right before the Rapture and during the seven-year tribulation. Prophecy tells us that we are near. Jesus tells us what to look for (Matthew 24 -25) and keep watch (Matthew 24:42). The Apostle Paul tells us to comfort one another (1 Thessalonians 4:18) and look for the Blessed Hope of the Appearing of Jesus (Titus 2:13).
These Prophecies are broken up into 6 major categories: Israel signs, signs in nature, signs of society, spiritual signs—positive and negative, world political signs, and technological signs. Ask yourself, are any of these signs happening right now? These are indicators of catastrophic world events that are on the horizon, and many have already begun or been fulfilled.
The first indicator is the rapture of true believers—the church (1 Thessalonians 4:16-18).
Why You Don’t Want to be Living in the Tribulation
The second is a seven-year period of history known as the Tribulation. There are three reasons why you don’t want to be living during this time.
This is God’s appointed time to pour His wrath out on all who have rejected Jesus.
It is also God’s appointed time to gather up His chosen people and bring them home. During the second 3 ½ years the wayward, unbelieving, unrepentant Jews will acknowledge Jesus Christ (whom they crucified) as their long-awaited Messiah and come to Salvation—God’s saving grace.
Three, those who accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior will be beheaded (martyred).
Prophetic Signs
“Remember the former things of old; for I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me, declaring the end from the beginning and from ancient times things not yet done, saying, ‘My counsel shall stand, and I will accomplish all my purpose” (Isaiah 46:9-10).
So, what are these Prophetic signs that point to perilous times ahead for those who do not know Jesus Christ as their personal Savior? All prophetic signs, in general, are to be like birth pangs’ that is, increasing in frequency and intensity during the End Times.
“But all these things are merely the beginning of birth pangs” (Matthew 24:8). HAPPENING
Therefore, after each prophecy, we will make one of three observations: HAPPENING right now, COMPLETE a fulfilled prophecy, and groundwork set for COMING within near future!
Signs of Israel
The most important prophecies for the end times have to do with Israel, God’s chosen people. This is a race of people that had been dispersed for over a thousand years. They were found in every nation and persecuted throughout the world. It seemed impossible that they would ever be a nation of their own.
The enemy's goal has always been to wipe Israel and its people off the face of the earth! It still is today! It would take a miracle for them to have their own nation again. But it was prophesied thousands of years before and it had to happen for the Messiah to return. Israel became a sovereign nation in 1948 so all the pieces are now in place.
“and they will fall by the edge of the sword and will be led captive into all the nations, and Jerusalem will be trampled underfoot by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled” (Luke 21:24). HAPPENING
Regathering of the Restored Remnant
“Then it will happen on that day that the Lord will again recover the second time with His hand the remnant of His people, who will remain, from Assyria, Egypt, Pathros, Cush, Elam, Shinar, Hamath, and from the islands of the sea. And He will lift up a standard for the nations and assemble the banished ones of Israel and will gather the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth” (Isaiah 11:11-12). COMPLETE
Israel was Born or Re-established as a Nation in One-Day
This officially occurred on May 14, 1948.
“Before she was in labor, she gave birth; before her pain came upon her, she delivered a son. Who has heard such a thing? Who has seen such things? Shall a land be born in one day? Shall a nation be brought forth in one moment? For as soon as Zion was in labor, she brought forth her children” (Isaiah 66:7-8). COMPLETE
All Nations Against Israel
“Thus declares the Lord who stretches out the heavens, lays the foundation of the earth; and forms the spirit of man within him, “Behold, I am going to make Jerusalem a cup that causes reeling to all the peoples around; and when the siege is against Jerusalem, it will also be against Judah. It will come about in that day that I will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all the peoples; all who lift it will be severely injured. And all the nations of the earth will be gathered against it.” (Zech 12:1-3) HAPPENING
Reclamation of the Land
“And the land that was desolate shall be tilled, instead of being the desolation that it was in the sight of all who passed by. And they will say, ‘This land that was desolate has become like the garden of Eden, and the waste and desolate and ruined cities are now fortified and inhabited.’ (Ezekiel 36:34-35). COMPLETE
The Revival of the Language
“In the end, I will turn things around for the people. I’ll give them a language undistorted, unpolluted, Words to address God in worship” (Zephaniah 3:9). COMPLETE
The Resurgence of the Military
“In that day I will make the clans of Judah like a firepot among pieces of wood and a flaming torch among sheaves, so they will consume on the right hand and on the left all the surrounding peoples, (Zechariah 12:6) COMPLETE
Refocusing on World Politics
“Behold, I am going to make Jerusalem a cup that causes reeling to all the peoples around; and when the siege is against Jerusalem, it will also be against Judah. It will come about in that day that I will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all the peoples; all who lift it will be severely injured. And all the nations of the earth will be gathered against it. In that day,” declares the Lord, “I will strike every horse with bewilderment and his rider with madness. But I will watch over the house of Judah, while I strike every horse of the peoples with blindness. Then the clans of Judah will say in their hearts, ‘A strong support for us are the inhabitants of Jerusalem through the Lord of hosts, their God.’ (Zechariah 12:2-5). HAPPENING
Reoccupation of Jerusalem
Jerusalem is the Center of the World
“While the inhabitants of Jerusalem again
dwell on their own sites in Jerusalem”

Famines and Earthquakes (all over the world)
“For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and in various places, there will be famines and earthquakes. (Matthew 24:7) HAPPENING

Signs in the Heavens
“There will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and on the earth dismay among nations, in perplexity at the roaring of the sea and the waves, men fainting from fear and the expectation of the things which are coming upon the world; for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Wonders in the Sky
“I will display wonders in the sky and on the earth, Blood, fire, and columns of smoke. The sun will be turned into darkness and the moon into blood before the great and awesome day of the Lord comes. And it will come about that whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be delivered” (Joel 2:30-32). HAPPENING
Accelerated Signs of Society
Lawlessness
“Because lawlessness is increased, most people’s love will grow cold. (Matthew 24:12) HAPPENING

Porn Epidemic
“Come here, I will show you the judgment of the great harlot who sits on many waters, with whom the kings of the earth committed acts of immorality, and those who dwell on the earth were made drunk with the wine of immorality.” (Revelation 17:2,3) COMING
Increased Materialism
“For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy” (2 Timothy 3:2). HAPPENING
Increasing Violence
“And just as it happened in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man… Now the earth was corrupt in the sight of God, and the earth was filled with violence. God looked on the earth, and behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted their way upon the earth. Then God said to Noah, “The end of all flesh has come before Me; for the earth is filled with violence because of them; and behold, I am about to destroy them with the earth” (Luke 17:26 & Genesis 6:11-13).
The Explosion of Cults
“For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will mislead many” (Matthew 24:11). HAPPENING
Increasing Knowledge

Persecution of True Believers
“But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you and will persecute you, delivering you to the synagogues and prisons, bringing you before kings and governors for My name’s sake. It will lead to an opportunity for your testimony. So make up your minds not to prepare beforehand to defend yourselves; for I will give you utterance and wisdom which none of your opponents will be able to resist or refute. But you will be betrayed even by parents and brothers and relatives and friends, and they will put some of you to death, and you will be hated by all because of My name” (Luke 21:12-17). HAPPENING

“But the Spirit explicitly says that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons, by means of the hypocrisy of liars seared in their own conscience as with a branding iron” (1 Timothy 4:1,2). HAPPENING
Denial of the Second Coming
“Know this first of all, that in the day’s mockers will come with their mocking, following after their own lusts, and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all continues just as it was from the beginning of creation” (2 Peter 3:3-4). HAPPENING
Denial of Creation by God
“For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power, and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse. For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Increasing Attacks on Jesus

A Revival of Davidic Worship
“But also on that Judgment Day I will restore David’s house that has fallen to pieces. I’ll repair the holes in the roof, replace the broken windows, fix it up like new. David’s people will be strong again and seize what’s left of enemy Edom, plus everyone else under my sovereign judgment.” God’s Decree. He will do this” (Amos 9:11). COMING

“This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come” (Matthew 24:14). HAPPENING
Understanding of Bible Prophecy
“But as for you, Daniel, conceal these and seal up the book until the end of time; many will go back and forth, and knowledge will increase.” As for me, I heard but could not understand; so I said, “My lord, what will be the outcome these events?” He said, “Go your way, for these words are concealed and sealed up until the end time” (Daniel 12:4, 8-9). The Revival of Messianic Judaism
“Isaiah cries out concerning Israel, “Though the number of the sons of Israel be like the sand of the sea, it is the remnant that will be saved;” (Romans 9:27) COMING
World Political Signs
There are many Political Signs taking place in the world ushering in the tribulation and after seven years Jesus’ Second coming. We have already seen that after the Rapture the antichrist (man of lawlessness) will appear and make a peace treaty with Israel and its enemies (Daniel 9:27).
First, the re-establishment of Israel as a unified nation. The nation of Israel, which has been divided into two kingdoms since the time of Solomon (950 BC) — Israel in the North and Judah in the South would be one united Nation in the Last Days.
“In those days the house of Judah will walk with the house of Israel, and they will together from the land of the north to the land that I gave your fathers as an inheritance” (Jer 3:18). COMPLETED
Unification of Israel
“Then He told them a parable: “Behold the fig tree (Israel) and all the trees; as soon as they forth leaves, you see it and know for yourselves that summer is now near. So, you also, when you see these things happening, recognize that the kingdom of God is near” Luke 21:29-31). COMPLETED
Israel is Partitioned by Nations
In 1947, UN Resolution 181 planned the partitioning of Israel. Currently, the West Bank and Gaza have been separated into Jewish and Palestinian settlements.
“He will take action against the strongest of fortresses with the help of a foreign god; he will give great honor to those who acknowledge him and will cause them to rule over the many and will parcel out land for a price” (Daniel 11:39). COMPLETED
Now we will look at a world in war and the wars and invasions that will take place against Israel. When this takes place the following prophecies will occur wars and rumors of wars, Arah hostility, Russia as a menacing power to Israel, Asian nations capable of fielding a 200 million man army, Kingdom Against Kingdom (civil wars and ethnic wars); Russia, China, Iran Allies on Israel’s Northern Border, the Reunification of Europe, destruction of Damascus in one day, and the establishment of a one-world, economy, religion, and government.
Wars and Rumors of Wars
“You will be hearing of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not frightened, for those things must take place, but that is not yet the end” (Matthew 24:6). COMING
Israel’s Prophesied Enemies
Persecution of Jews
Russia and Allies Invasion of Israel
Russia (Magog) would rise as a military power and lead an attack on Israel to take away “great plunder”. Israel has discovered a huge natural gas reservoir (Leviathan) that could alter the geopolitical power balance in the Middle East.
Russian Allies on Israel’s Northern Border — Anti-Semitism in the Islamic world is rampant. According to the Koran and Hadith, Muslims are commanded to fight and slay non-believers in Jihad (holy war) unless they convert to Islam (Surahs 9:5 and 47:4; vol.1,b.2, Hadith #24 and 35). Iran (Persia), Turkey (Gomer), Sudan (Cush), and Libya (Put) would also partake in this military attack. Israel Would be Invincible
An invincible Israel makes no sense – unless you believe in the Bible. Since 1948, tiny Israel has been attacked in three major wars and several lesser wars. Yet despite being vastly outnumbered, they have defeated all attacking foes.
“For behold, days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will restore the fortunes of my people, Israel and Judah, says the Lord, and I will bring them back to the land that I gave to their fathers, and they shall take possession of it. These are the words that the Lord spoke concerning Israel and Judah: Thus says the Lord: We have heard a cry of panic, of terror, and no peace. Ask now, and see, can a man bear a child? Why then do I see every man with his hands on his stomach like a woman in labor? Why has every face turned pale? Alas! That day is so great there is none like it; it is a time of distress for Jacob (tribulation); yet he shall be saved out of it” (Jeremiah 30:3-7). COMING
Asian Nations Capable of Fielding an Army of 200 Million
“And the four angels, who had been prepared for the hour and day and month and year, were released so that they would kill a third of mankind. The number of the armies of the horsemen was two hundred million; I heard the number of them. The sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river, the Euphrates; and its water was dried up so that the way would be prepared for the kings from the east” (Revelation 9:15-16; 16:12). COMPLETE
Birds of Prey
It is a little-known fact that Israel is the bird migration capital of the world numbering in the billions. Thirty-four species of these birds are carrion or dead flesh-eating birds. The Bible prophesies that after these battles the dead flesh of Israel’s enemies will be eaten by birds.
“You will fall on the mountains of Israel, you and all your troops and the peoples who are with you; I will give you as food to every kind of predatory bird and beast of the field” (Ezekiel 39:4).
Kingdom Against Kingdom (civil wars and ethnic wars)
“For nation will rise up against nation, kingdom against kingdom; there will be earthquakes in various places; there will also be famines. These things are merely the beginning of birth pangs” (Mark 13:8). HAPPENING

One-world Government, Economy, and Religion
“This is what he said: ‘The fourth beast will be a fourth kingdom on the earth which will be different from all the other kingdoms, and will devour the whole earth and trample it down and crush it. As for the ten horns, out of this kingdom ten kings will arise; and another will arise after them, and he will be different from the previous ones and will humble three kings. And he will speak against the Most High and wear down the saints of the Highest One, and he will intend to make alterations in times and in law; and they will be handed over to him for a time, times, and half a time. But the court will convene for judgment, and his dominion will be taken away, annihilated and destroyed forever" (Daniel 7:23-26). COMING
Destruction of Damascus
Damascus in Syria is known for its extremely anti-Semitic views and is a shelter for many terrorist organizations who have publicly vowed to destroy Israel.
“Behold, Damascus is about to be removed from being and will become a fallen ruin" (Isaiah 17:1).
This is what the Lord says: “For three offenses of Damascus, and for four, I will not revoke its punishment, because they threshed Gilead with iron sledges. So, I will send fire upon the house of Hazael, and it will consume the citadels of Ben-Hadad. I will also break the gate bar of Damascus, and eliminate every inhabitant from the Valley of Aven, as well as him who holds the scepter, from Beth-eden; So, the people of Aram will be exiled to Kir,” says the Lord (Amos 1:3-5).
Technological Signs
Nuclear Weapons
“The first sounded, and there came hail and fire, mixed with blood, and they were thrown to the earth; and a third of the earth was burned up, and a third of the trees were burned up, and all the green grass was burned up” (Revelation 8:9). HAPPENING
Television and Satellite Transmission
“For three and a half days people from every ethnicity, tribe, nation, and language will see their corpses, because no one is permitted to bury them. The entire world will gloat over them and celebrate and exchange gifts, because these two prophets had condemned those who dwell on the earth” (Revelation 11:3-12). COMING
Robotics
“And through these startling miracles that he performed on behalf of the first beast, he deceived the world, telling the people to erect a statue in the image of the beast that had been wounded by the sword and yet lived. The beast from the earth was empowered to breathe life into the image of the first beast so that it could speak and kill those who refused to worship its image” (Revelation 13:14-15). COMING

“It also caused everyone, small and great, rich and poor, free and bound, to be marked on the right hand or on the forehead. “Don’t be naive. There are difficult times ahead. As the end approaches, people are going to be self-absorbed, money-hungry, self-promoting, stuck-up, profane, contemptuous of parents, crude, coarse, dog-eat-dog, unbending, slanderers, impulsively wild, savage, cynical, treacherous, ruthless, bloated windbags, addicted to lust, and allergic to God. They’ll make a show of religion, but behind the scenes they’re animals. Stay clear of these people. (2 Tim 3:1-4). HAPPENING
"God never pours out His wrath without warning because He does not wish that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance” (2 Peter 3:9).
Jesus said that when we see all these signs come together, He will be “right at the door,” ready to return (Matthew 24: 33).
God is warning us, and Jesus is ready for His Father’s command.
