Take a short Quiz to see if you’re a True Christian. Many people call themselves Christians, but are they true Christians in the historical and Biblical sense? Do they believe in the Jesus Christ of the Holy Scriptures or one of their own makings?

A few years back, Ligonier ministries surveyed 3,000 American Evangelicals. The results were surprising and disturbing. Three results were 30% reject the Deity of Jesus, 42% believe that God accepts the worship of all religions, including Christianity, Judaism, and Islam; 25% believe that God counts a person as righteous because of his works, not because of one’s faith in Jesus. Wow! Or maybe you agree.

There is a real effort called the ecumenical movement to unite all Religions. The Pope of the Roman Catholic church seems to be leading the charge. But hundreds of Protestant pastors agree. He says that Muslims are our brothers in the faith and that protestants (what I am and possibly you are too) are anathema (eternally dammed to Hell) if they don’t believe in Catholic dogmas.

Are all world religions like Buddhism and Islam, and supposedly Christian Religions like Roman Catholicism and Mormonism, or even Secular humanists, etc., just many paths to the same God? Or is the world full of false prophets, false christ's, and false teachers led by deceitful spirits? This is what the Bible calls the doctrines and teachings of demons.

"Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith (apostatize) by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings (doctrines) of demons" (1 Timothy 4:1).

It seems that the new secular religion is tolerance. There is only one group of people they are not tolerant of, you guessed it, Christians. Why? This is what I think. It is because we believe by faith in Jesus Christ, love Him, worship Him, sing songs, and pray to Him. Jesus alone is our God, Savior, and Lord and deserves all Glory and Honor. So why does the world hate Him so much? Because He said,

I Am the only way, only truth, and only life; no one can come to the Father but through me” (John 14:6).

Therefore, if you dare, just for fun or out of curiosity, we challenge you to take this short quiz and see if you are a real Christian.

Answers to the Quiz

As a follow-up blog, named "Answers to the Quiz," I have given you a KEY to the quiz. I not only give why the Christian answer is yes but examine 5 other popular religions Buddhism, Mormonism, Roman Catholicism, Secular Humanism, and Islam. The following are the results:

  1. Christianity 25 Yes & 0 No

  2. Roman Catholicism 4 Yes & 21 No

  3. Mormonism 0 Yes & 25 No

  4. Islam 1 Yes & 24 No

  5. Secular Humanism 0 Yes & 25 No

You probably ask yourself what Christianity and Islam have in common. They both believe in monotheism, one God and that Jesus lived a sinless life. Of course, the Jesus of Islam is not the same as the Christian Jesus. The Muslim Jesus did not die on the cross therefore your sins are not forgiven. In His place, they have a merit or works system. See Question #10 below as an example.

10) I believe Jesus lived a perfect life, not one sin.

  • Christian - Yes, "For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things just as we are, yet without sin" "Hebrews 4:15).

  • Roman Catholic - No, just as most doctrines concerning Jesus, they add something. In this case, it's Jesus Plus Mary. They believe Mary was conceived sinless stated in the doctrine of the "immaculate conception of Mary" in 1854. As well as Mary did not die but was taken up to heaven called the "Assumption of Mary" which became official Catholic doctrine in 1950.

  • Buddhism - No, the “eightfold path” consists of having a right 1) view, 2) intention, 3) speech, 4) action, 5) livelihood (being a monk), 6) effort (properly direct energies), 7) mindfulness (meditation), and 8) concentration (focus) and leads to Nirvana. The goal is to enter Nirvana where one can eventually leave behind the cycle of reincarnation to exist spiritually. None of this has anything to do with Jesus.

  • Secular Humanist (progressive liberals) - No, Sin is irrelevant, its power that counts. Jesus might have been a moral teacher at best. But who cares, He has done more harm than good. Reason and empathy serve as guiding principles for ethical decision-making in secular humanism. Rationality encourages critical thinking, evidence-based evaluation, and the consideration of long-term consequences. Empathy enables individuals to understand and relate to the experiences and perspectives of others, fostering a compassionate and inclusive approach to ethics.

  • Mormonism - No, Jesus is one of many gods not because He was sinless but because he kept the Mormon rules and He attained them, just like you and I can. The goal of Mormonism is to become a god through obedience and works and rule and populate another planet.

  • Islam - Yes, they do think Jesus lived a sinless life and he is coming back during the reign of the Imam Mahdi. Islam asserts that Jesus, though born of a virgin, was created like Adam. Muslims do not believe Jesus died on the cross. They do not understand why Allah would allow His prophet to die a torturous death.

We All Have the Same Dilemma, We're Dead in Sin

Every human being, ethnic group, race, or gender finds themselves in this same dilemma. Therefore, there are three questions you would be wise to ask yourself and extremely prudent to answer.

  1. One, why do I need to be saved?

  2. Two, what does it mean for me to be saved?

  3. Three, how am I saved?

I believe Only Jesus plus nothing not only saves you but answers these three questions.
